Accra Hearts of Oak bounced back from back to back defeats to beat Ebusua Dwarfs 2:1 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko lost their first game with Aduana Stars recording a 100 percent start to the GPL.
Two brilliantly converted free kicks from Esso and Kpordzi were enough to ensure Hearts of Oak avoided a third straight defeat this season. Ebusua Dwarfs lagged behind for most of the game in Accra but were able to get a consolation through a defensive error by the Phobians.
Asante Kotoko could not come back from an early concession when they played against Berekum Chelsea in Kumasi. The lone goal was enough to hand the porcupines their first defeat of the season. The win for Berekum Chelsea ensured that Kotoko move on 7th position behind them with a point difference.

Aduana Stars keep first position joint with Ashanti Gold FC. Yahaya Mohammed produced two goals for Aduana Stars to ensure they retain a 100 percent start to the season. King Faisal could only produce a consolation deep into the second half to end the game 2-1 for the Aduanaman stars. Ashgold kept a clean sheet against Eleven wonders while scoring two to compete for top spot.
Dreams FC and Elmina Sharks were held to goalless draws at their respective home grounds while Karela beat Inter Allies at home to record their first win of the season.
